NEWS FLASH

The Slovenian government is still awaiting approval from the European Commission in order to issue a public call to airlines for the launch of ten new routes from the country in a bid to improve connectivity. The government had hoped it would be able to commence tender procedures today, however, the European Commission still hasn’t approved the subsidy scheme which will provide a total of 16.8 million euros to airlines over the next three years. As the program constitutes state aid, the executive body of the EU must approve it beforehand. The state will initially provide funds for the launch of flights to Vienna, Copenhagen, Athens, Madrid, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Charleroi, Skopje, Prague and Berlin. The tender is expected to run for thirty days once launched. EX-YU Aviation NewsBy: EX-YU Aviationhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/[email protected]
