New Chase Sapphire Reserve offer: Highest bonus in over a year

HOSTED BY: 1 AIR TRAVEL

Editor’s note: This is a recurring post, regularly updated with new information and offers.

Since its release in 2016, the Chase Sapphire Reserve® has been a major player in the world of travel rewards credit cards. When the card launched, it offered new cardholders a welcome bonus of 100,000 points, an offer never seen again.

The Sapphire Reserve is a fan favorite among cardholders and continues to offer incredible value through benefits such as a $300 travel credit, airport lounge access and the ability to redeem points for as high as 1.5 cents a piece through Chase Travel℠.

Now, for a limited time, the Sapphire Reserve is offering an elevated welcome offer of 75,000 bonus points that’s worth considering.

The regular bonus on this card is 60,000 points. We don’t expect the initial 100,000-point bonus to come back, and the last time we saw an elevated bonus of 80,000 points was in January 2023. So, if you’ve been eyeing this card, now is the time to apply.

If you want a lower annual fee, the same bonus is available on the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card.

Chase Sapphire Reserve current sign-up bonus

Current welcome bonus: Earn 75,000 bonus points after spending $4,000 on purchases within the first three months from account opening. We value those points at $1,538.

Points can be redeemed through Chase Travel for 1.5 cents each or for more value by transferring points to one of 14 transfer partners.

THE POINTS GUY

Annual fee: $550

Earning rate: Earn 10 points per dollar spent at hotels and car rentals booked through Chase Travel, 10 points per dollar on Chase Dining, and 3 points per dollar on all other travel and dining purchases.

Why we like it: In addition to valuable earning rates, Chase defines other travel and dining broadly, so cardholders can earn bonus points on purchases such as tolls, parking meters, bakeries, cafes, and fast food. The card offers Priority Pass lounge membership to access over 1,300 lounges and Chase’s own fantastic lounges in Austin, Boston, New York and Washington D.C., with more on the way.

With great transfer partners such as Air Canada Aeroplan, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, and British Airways Executive Club, you can redeem points for beyond 1.5 cents per point, especially when redeeming for premium cabins.

pplication rules and restrictions

Although it’s exciting to see a premium travel credit card with an elevated bonus offer, keep in mind the official rules and restrictions before applying.

The product is not available to either (i) current cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card, or (ii) previous cardmembers of any Sapphire credit card who received a new cardmember bonus within the last 48 months. If you are an existing Sapphire customer and would like this product, please call the number on the back of your card to see if you are eligible for a product change.

Bottom line

The Chase Sapphire Reserve and the Chase Sapphire® Preferred are both offering elevated welcome offers. The Sapphire Reserve is one of the top-tier premium travel rewards credit cards, offering a high earning rate, airport lounge access and a $300 travel credit. If you’ve been thinking of getting this card, now is a great time to apply.
