The Canadian Transportation Agency has issued Air Serbia a permit to begin codeshare flights to the country, upon its request. Although the Agency has not said which airline the Serbian carrier plans to enter into a codeshare agreement with, Air Serbia has previously noted it would place its designator and flight numbers onto Turkish Airlines’ services from Istanbul to Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal subject to regulatory approval. Now that it has secured these rights, Air Serbia will be able to sell tickets to Canada via Istanbul. Air Serbia has made no secret that it is considering launching its own flights between Belgrade and Toronto. Last month, its CEO, Jiri Marek, said, “When it comes to North America, after JFK and Chicago, the logical choices are either Toronto or Miami.
