In the airline’s first operational year, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi has operated more than 1,080 successful flights most of which (506 flights) took place in the fourth quarter of the year.
In a statement, the Managing Director of Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, Kees Van Schaick said that, “we are proud of what has been achieved since launching our operations in the Emirati of Abu Dhabi. Through collaboration with key shareholders, we have been able to grow and expand our network to more than 34 destination despite all the challenges we have faced. This has helped us play our role in attracting tourists into the Emirati and build on our ambitions to expand our network to even many more destinations.”

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi fleet size consists of four Airbus A321neo aircrafts making flights to destinations like Tel Aviv (Israel), Baku (Azerbaijan), Muscat(Oman), Yerevan (Armenia), Odesa (Ukraine), Larnaca (Cyprus), Sofia (Bulgaria), Athens (Greece), Kutaisi (Georgia) and the recently added Vienna (Austria) among others. It should be noted that the airline is a joint venture, state-owned ADQ (formerly known as Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company) owning 51% and Wizz Air Holdings owning 49% of the shares, based in Abu Dhabi and known for its cheap travel rates.

Kees Van Schaick added that their aim is to serve a large segment of travellers and provide them with affordable packages with great memories and experiences to remember. The airlines looks forward to continuing their contribution to enhancing the development of the aviation and tourism sectors in the Emirati of Abu Dhabi and achieving many more successful milestones in the near future.
