American airline Jetblue has announced the introduction of a daytime service that will operate from London Heathrow to John F Kennedy International Airport. At present, the low-cost airline only operates overnight flights. This is not the first route development announcement from the American airline this year, as Jetblue has also announced plans to introduce direct flights to Paris from New York and Boston.

The well-anticipated service is deemed to launch on March 25th, providing passengers with the chance to get to either London or New York on the same day. Jetblue’s new daytime flight will leave both destinations by 8:30 am, and the journey will last for 12 hours and 30 minutes. As a result, there will be a reduction in the total number of flights.
Jetblue has since spoken about the positives this new prospect will bring for customers.

Daytime flight services can be beneficial for those travelling a long distance as the journey will last one day rather than two, reducing the possibility of jetlag.
Under Flames
Though this development brings exciting times for Jetblue, the airline has recently faced some tragedy. On Christmas Eve, Jetblue flight 662 departed from Bridgetown, Barbados, to John F Kennedy International Airport. However, after landing, over 160 passengers were evacuated via the aircraft’s emergency slides due to a passenger’s laptop getting caught on fire.
Jetblue airlines have released a statement addressing the incident further.
“On Saturday, JetBlue flight 662 with service from Bridgetown, Barbados (BGI) was evacuated shortly after landing at New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) due to reports of a customer’s malfunctioning electronic device or battery.”
A total of five passengers faced minor injuries as a result of the incident.
Though the airline has faced recent difficulties, it is clear that Jetblue is aiming to improve its services for its customers in this new year.
