Emirates repeated an advertising stunt on top of the World’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa, last week showing flight attendant Nicole Smith-Ludvik in Emirates uniform standing holding signs. A similar stunt was also performed in 2021, but this time the Dubai-based carrier’s Airbus A380 wearing the unique marmite Expo 2020 livery flew just behind her.
In the video shared on Youtube, she can be seen holding a board saying, “I’m still here”, at the beginning of the video. After showing two boards, she holds another card saying, “Finally, here come my friends”. Shortly after, the Emirates Airbus A380 with unique Dubai Expo 2020 livery flew right behind her with a stunning bank angle when she was holding a board saying, “I’m still here”.
Earlier in August, the stunt’s video was shot by a helicopter and drone. The filming was started at sunrise, and the fearless flight attendant began to climb before sunrise. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes to climb to the top from level 160 to the top of the Burj Khalifa by Emaar. The production team was at the top for around 5 hours.
Commenting on this ad shoot, Emirates Airline President, Sir Tim Clark said:
“We always look to challenge the norm and push boundaries at Emirates. We do it every day through our innovative services, our best in class product and of course through our advertising. The calm and confidence of the cabin crew you see in the ad is an embodiment of our frontline team, serving travellers and ensuring their safety.
“We’re proud to be among a privileged few who have been allowed to film at the top of the Burj Khalifa and even prouder that we get to showcase our beautiful city, Dubai.”
Nicole Smith-Ludvik wore a safety harness under her uniform secured to a custom-made platform attached directly to the top of the Burj Khalifa.
