The suspension of travel from India to UAE initially began on 24th April 2021, when India was in the midst of its second wave of COVID-19.
The Airline issued a statement, which was as follows:“Those passengers who have connected through India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, or Sri Lanka in the last 14 days will not be accepted to travel from any other point to the UAE. In line with UAE government directives, Emirates will be suspending the carriage of passengers from India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka to Dubai until July 25 2021.”Further Complications For Air Travel To Key Regions | © Emarat Daily
Some Exemptions Apply
Emirates Airline has also confirmed that passengers who hold a UAE Golden Visa or are part of a diplomatic mission, will be allowed to travel to the UAE from the aforementioned countries, providing that they adhere to the COVID-19 protocol implemented by local government. Furthermore, the Airline has stated that those passengers impacted by cancellation or suspension of affected routes, due to the ever changing COVID-19 restrictions, will be able to retain their flight ticket until the Airline is able to honour the flight. As such, affected passengers can get in touch with the Airline or the Agent that they booked with, in order to rearrange travel plans.Emirates Airline issued a further statement as follows:Our Contact Centres are experiencing a greater volume of calls than anticipated.
