Air France Opens Three Long-Haul Destinations For Next Winter

Air France has decided to capitalize on the expected post-pandemic surge in leisure traffic by launching three new long-haul holiday destinations and increasing frequencies on similar existing routes.

The new destinations announced by the French flag carrier will be Zanzibar, Tanzania; Muscat, Oman; and Colombo, Sri Lanka. All these destinations are very popular among European holidaymakers and therefore served by charter companies. They will be available for travel during the 2021-22 winter season starting on 31 October 2021.

Air France will start flights to Zanzibar on 18 December 2021 with two frequencies per week operated with a Boeing 787-9 aircraft as a continuation of the flight to Nairobi, Kenya.

Similarly, the connections to Colombo will be operated with the same aircraft type as of 1 November 2021, and will be the continuation of flights to Male, Maldives, therefore adding an extra destination to the offer for the Indian Ocean already available to Air France customers who can avail of their connections to Madagascar, Mauritius, Seychelles and the French Overseas Department of Reunion.

There will also be a strengthening of services to the Middle East with the launch of a brand-new flight to Muscat, Oman, three times per week as of 31 October 2021. This new connection will be joined by increased frequencies to Dubai, U.A.E., that will see its services increased up to 14 flights per week from 23 October 2021.

Air France has also decided to its Overseas Territory of French Polynesia. Flights to Papeete that will be served with a Boeing 777-200 aircraft and will be available up to five times per week from Paris via Los Angeles as of 3 November 2021.

Finally, services to Miami, U.S.A., will be increased up to 12 weekly flights as of 31 October 2021 with a mix of Boeing 777-300 and Airbus A350 aircraft.
